日本の抹茶ビデオ

抹茶!

(Matcha)

This video briefly shows viewers how a typical Japanese tea ceremony is conducted. I chose to write about this video because I LOVE matcha. I originally started watching this video because I thought it was going to be more about matcha itself and not the tea ceremony. However, once I started watching, I found the video to be quite cool. In the video, the narrator stated how in Japanese culture, beauty is derived from simplicity. I think that is a beautiful way of thinking that is accurately reflected in many Japanese things such as interior design. Going off of the topic of beauty, it was captivating to watch how the lady in the video prepared the matcha tea and set up the ceremony. Every movement of hers was very graceful and light. Something I noticed at the end of the video was that when the lady picked up the tea bowl to drink, she put it in the palm of her hand and rotated it before drinking. She also rotated the bowl back before returning the bowl. I wonder what the significance of this movement was as it was clearly intentional. Feel free to leave a comment if you know!
